Glogster on the 20th Anniversary of Comenius

In the following Glogster we can watch some video recordings taken during the celebrations, both at Schools and at the Town Hall in Garbsen. There are also some links to watch other events of those days.

Comenius is well worth our effort

It's our last day.
Lots of things have happened.
Lots of work, lots of memories, lots of feelings, lots of things to be told at the moment, so late.
So, if you don't mind, we'll post only some images
to say:
We feel exhausted but happy, with the work done well.
So, our congratulations to everybody:
First to our hosts, the German students, teachers and  Principals;
to French, Spanish-Basque and Polish students, teachers and Principals as well,
because all of us have done our best.
Soon shall we upload the experiences of this memorable day.
Farewell to everybody.
Best wishes.

Farewell,
though there are still a lot of things to see and tell.

Wednesday: Places of Germany

Comenius project  involves different and varied activities.
Yesterday we paid attention to the different ways of working and presenting the projects about the most important dates in  European Union. Today we  observe another way of learning: visiting places, watching new cities and traditions, tasting new food.

Workshops 2nd Day

Yes, they are already on route.
Early in the morning workshop teams started to work. They had to deepen in the history of the European Union by means of artistic forms: Literature, comics, music, surveys, using computers or drama... all the arts are a good excuse to learn and teach what the EU is like.

First workshops and Celebrations

Today has been a very hard intensive day.
Students started playing sports in trinational teams: football with a giant ball, basketball, hockey...
Then they started to identify the most important dates in the construction of Europe in different trinational teams.
After lunch break, they started their second workshop. Again, they were divided into teams; but, now, every team has to prepare a special artistic presentation of the dates worked in the morning: theatre, music, literature, fine arts will give support to their ideas.

Later in the evening, the teachers of the countries taking part in Project Comenius in Garbsen celebrated the 20th anniversary in the town hall of the city. Their representatives were given a plate of commemoration. Our Principal, Mr. José Antonio Beobide, and the English teacher, Mr. Carlos Martínez, took part in the ceremony. María Jesús Domínguez, as representative of our school, said a few words explaining the importance of Comenius in our students' life and in the life of Julio Caro Baroja High School.

Bremen and The Four Musicians

Once upon a time, in the city of Bremen a certain man had a donkey...
Who doesn't know the story?
Bremen will be part of our memories thanks to our German hosts.
On a cold windy winter day we set off and went through a snowy countryside in order to see and admire this wonderful city, a state city as an ancient Greek city, a lover of liberty.
But perhaps, you might be more interested in the images than in my words.

Student Exchange to Germany: Hannover

Greetings from Hanover and from Garbsen
Here are some pictures of this beautiful city, a city which has had an interesting past, which suffered from the disasters of  World War II and whose inhabitants have worked hard to build up a new modern city.
For our students this has been their first contact with the
German Culture alive.

At last in Garbsen (Germany)

At 09:00 sharp they were at the underground station in Algorta excitedly talking about the trip they were just starting. For some of them it was their first time abroad and their first time travelling by plane.

At 10:30 they were keeping queue to check in at La paloma airport. Then, they took a short time to take a picture before boarding. They also found strange "warnings" on the walls.

Then things happened very quicky: they went through the police check point, got into the shops, boarded, took off, landed in Stuttgard... waited for four hours and a half to transfer and arrived at Hanover Airport after more than seven hours. But it was well worth, as some special friends were waiting for them: Their student exchange friends from Garbsen

Home, family feelings, friends, old and new landscapes were left behind.

New experiences, new encounters, new projects
were ahead. For them, the so long expected "Comenius 20th Aniversary Meeting"
had just started.
