September 9

 Wrenthem Premium outlets

By Libe Alejo / Paule Zaldua

In the morning, everyone woke up and got ready in their own houses. After that, we went to Scituate High School, where we joined our first class of the exchange. In our case, we had Physics, which was different from what we usually have in Spain but also interesting and fun.

Around 9:30 we took the bus and went on a trip to a shopping mall called Wrentham Outlets. The mall was really big and there were many different stores with good prices. We walked around, visited several shops and some of us bought clothes or souvenirs to remember this experience. At lunchtime, each of us ate in different places inside the mall, so we didn’t eat all together but everyone enjoyed their lunch.

At 2 o’clock we met again to take the bus back to Scituate High School. When we arrived, our exchange partners were waiting for us. We talked a little with them and then each of us went home. In the afternoon, most of us spent time doing homework and relaxing after a long day. It was a very good experience and we enjoyed it a lot.

 BFA & Fenway Park

by Mateo Uria & Jon Urquiza

We woke up at 7:00 a.m., had breakfast, and were taken to school. After attending our first class,  a school bus took us to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where we explored fascinating collections from ancient Egypt, Asia, Greece, and Rome. We also saw European art  by really talented and popular painters such as   Velazquez.

Once the visit ended, we sat at the outdoor tables for lunch. While we were eating, some goose appeared asking for some food; we also saw a squirrel.

After all that mentioned before, we started walking until reaching Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox. We visited the gif store and also enjoyed a guided tour of the stadium to learn about it’s history. We admired the famous Green Monster or as they call it “The Green Monstah” with the special and distinctive Boston accent. After a rather uncomfortable ride back, we arrived home, had dinner, and went to sleep.

Journey & family days

September 6th

To start our long travel day, we woke up at 3am to get ready for the airport. When we all had checked in our luggage, we waited for a little while until it was time to board our flight to Paris. During that flight most of us ended up having a quick nap to get our energy back.

Once we arrived in Paris, we had some free time before having to board the next flight, which would take us to the US, so while some of us used this time to get breakfast, others looked around the shops. Finally, they opened the gate and we got on the plane.

After seven long hours, we arrived at our final destination: Boston. A yellow bus picked us up and dropped us off at Scituate High School, where we met our families for the very first time. We dropped our bags off at home and we spent the rest of the day visiting places around town, such as the beach and the harbor.

September 7th

Sunday was our first full day here and we had many activities organized.

Most of our families drove us to the supermarket in order to help them buy groceries and let us choose the food we would be eating throughout the week.

After that, we all gathered at the welcome party the Spanish department and out host familias had organized for us, where we had lunch. At this event, we had the opportunity to talk and bond with the American students.

Some hours later, we split into smaller groups and each decided to spend the rest of the evening differently; some of us, for example, decided to go watch a movie while waiting for our American partners to pick us up.

September 21, 2023 - Wrentham Outlets

 Wrentham Outlets

by Leire & Peio

On September 21st, we were dropped of in the morning and then we went to the first period with our partners. At 9.15, the bus picked us up and we went to our destination: the Wretham Outlets.

The place is like a small “village”, formed by outlets of big brands. Some of the shops weren’t outlets though, as we would come to find very soon thereafter. They told us we had time till 2.30 pm.

Then, each student or in pairs or threes went on their own, visiting shops and buying whatever they wanted or needed. After buying stuff and having lunch in the various trucks all around the village, we went back to the bus and returned to SHS, where our families were waiting for us.

Finally, we spent the afternoon with our families.
