2ª ESO Projects

This term has been very active in Projects in 2º ESO.
They started a Music Project about Famous Bands and Singers

They chose their favourite band or singer and, in pairs, they prepared a Power Point or a Glogster. Finally, they presented them to their classmates.

A bit difficult task at the beginning, but little by little they are improving.
And their last project: Story telling.
They  have presented short  stories about "King Arthur",

"
The Princess and the Frog" and Some "Arabian Tales"

Pintxo, pintxo...

Languages have always got good friends: other languages. It doesn´t matter the name or the country they come from, especially if it is our own language.
Some students have asked to upload all the musical preliminary tasks, previous to their trip to Garbsen.
Here they are!

Isn't it funny?

Flying through Europe, an Anthem for Young European People

There is a time when a project brings out another project, when an idea creates a new idea, when time makes a new time.
On this occasion, the fact that we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Comenius in Garbsen (Germany) has made us fancy and compose a song.

Here are some pictures of this creative adventure, and part of the video.

COIN 1st and 2nd BATX

This year again, we are working with our students in 1st and 2nd Bachillerato developing our skills in Oral English in the subject COIN. It is the first year of COIN  for our students in D language model.

From time to time we have some small surprises. For instance, when the German students came to our school we had especial classes with them.

During the first term, the students worked on two projects, the first one was about their Holidays.
.

They prepared wonderful power points for their presentations.

Young European Citizens

Two weeks ago, we wrote about a song to be sung to celebrate the 20th Comenius Anniversary in Garbsen, a sort of "anthem". After two weeks, here is a first general rehearsal.
Our intention is not only to release it, but to invite our friends from Germany and France to learn it so that we can sing it together when we meet in Garbsen, Germany, next March.

Young European Citizens

Chorus
Flying through Europe is a trip not to forget.
Flying to Spain becomes the most exciting way.
Flying to Getxo… The Basque traditions are so great!
Flying to Garbsen is a dream to make new friends.

If you want to make a nation of nations today,
If you want to join young people from Europe one day,
Don’t wait so long, you won’t have to waste your brain
Just give us your hand and let us sing this song again.

Flying through Europe is a trip not to forget.
Flying to France seems the most exciting way.
Flying to Metz, the Euroregion, is so great.
Flying to Garbsen is a dream to see our  friends.

Our European projects do project our faith
That the future’s more than money; it’s something to make.
Don’t wait so long; you don’t have to be so brave.
Just give us your hand and let’s sing this song again.
Flying to Europe is a trip not to forget.
Flying to Germany becomes the most exciting way.
Flying to France seems a dream not to forget
Fly to Spain, fly to Getxo, fly to Garbsen, fly to Metz…
and meet your European friends.

More on Student Exhange with Germany

Yes, time goes along  and tasks are improving.

Students are centred upon the EU Institutions. Discovering their importance in current national affairs will make them aware of their reality to find out, observe and appreciate the many positive aspects brought out for their country, or perhaps some unpredictable undesirable consequences due to some decisions taken there.

Anyway, their Europeism  encourages them to go deeply into their different visions of the facts that shape and make up reality.

In the pictures we see them in the play activities singing some Basque songs and learning to translate the lyrics into sign language.

What they haven't decided yet is about which
song to dance together.

English T-COM (2º-ESO-1)

In our Trilingual Project, 2º ESO students have got a especial subject called English T-COM.
There are 20 students in class. Here is a picture of them.

Our main aim is developing Listening/Speaking skills. They often prepare projects about topics such as Drugs, Tobacco or Healthy Eating.

"We started getting information about our partners and telling what we had learnt. After that, we knew the importance of a balanced diet and how other factors such as sport, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, etc. influence on our health. We showed all the information on some short power points."

Here you can see some of the Power Points they have prepared
for the activities  during the first term.

...though, no doubt, the most interesting thing was
their oral presentation.
