Drama Workshop, an exciting dynamic class

If we were asked what our 1-ESO- Drama Workshop MET students have been doing during the school year 2013-2014, and if we were asked to summarise it in a single image, this could be the image:

Congratulations to all of them for their craziness and happiness, for the time shared together   in the English Drama Workshop.

COIN bets on Projects with the New Technologies

Along the current year, COIN -1st  Bach has been working with projects on different topics.
They started presenting their favourite film and Film Review with drive documents and PPTs (Harry Potter, Ted, Pulp Fiction, Karate Kid, etc.).

During the next evaluation they were working on Risky Sports. As usual, they first seached on them in the net and prepared a script. On this ocassion they made a glogster as a support for their oral presentation. In teams of two people they presented Formula One, Climbing, Rafting, Surfing, etc. (see the Label COIN in this blog).

As usual,  the students evaluated the other students' presentations
Their third project was a totally speaking project on Urban Legends and Role-Playing.
Finally their last project was on English Speaking Countries
This has been the most complete in any sense. To do so, they have learnt how to use PREZI and Timetoast.

To have a look at them, click here,
and a Prezi containing all the Prezis they have created will appear.  Don't forget that to be able to watch it thoroughly, you have to press on the middle bottom arrows of the frame.

RECIPES IN 2nd DBH (2.1, 2.2 and 2.3)

In our English book, Unit 6 is about FOOD, and as we like recipes and cooking, we decided to make delicious dishes.
First, students answered questions about cooking: Do you like to cook? Why? Why not? Would you like to learn?... Then, we watched videos and played games to revise vocabulary related to cooking: verbs, food, tools...  and we also went shopping, measured ingredients, mixed and baked a delicious cake (just with games and videos).
After that, students followed these instructions to create a presentation of a recipe (HTB material):

These are some of their productions:

Here you can see Danel presenting his recipe

Some students even dared to record themselves while cooking

TRIP TO LONDON

The last week of March twenty-six students from 1st batxillerato and three teachers visited London. We stayed in a beautiful Victorian hotel near Hyde Park.

We could practise our English and  had a really good time, we went nearly everywhere in London: the British Museum, the National Gallery, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge...

But we also had time for shopping in Oxford Street, Harrods or the biggest shopping centre in Europe: Westfield.

We took a boat along the river Thames and went to Greenwich; the view of London from the boat was unique, maybe as good as from The London Eye.

Some of us saw the well-known musical The Lion King, it was a wonderful experience!

And some others even took part in a show in Candem Town.

Exhausting but unforgettable.
We want to go back to London soon!!!

Trilateral Meeting: March 28th, Friday

Friday has been an exciting work day. Teams have finished their tasks.  Some students have been to regular classes to present the project on Comenius Trilateral Meeting, and then they have presented the whole project to their pairs.

In the evening they have celebrated the National Evening Party. Polish Hungarians and Basque students have presented their countries by means of PPTs and videos. Ander Arias danced the "Agurra", and all students sang "Welcome home, to Europe".
After a food break where  the trikitixak played by Markel, Haize and Ane were listened to, they had a disco at the gym, which had been  beautifully decorated by the students.
Finally, the Image Team showed a video with "the best of the week" before leaving, which made all of them feel that something important had been done during the week.

They started working dividing the big group into several teams to prepare the new activities:
- Some prepared the Presentation for regular English classes.
- Others worked hard with the Timeline to upload all the National Festivals from the three countries with all the information they had got.
- A third group prepared a Debate.
- A fourth one worked on a Roleplay.
- Others were wrting a Report for the Comenius blog.
- Onother team wrote another Report, but for the Comenius site.
- The image and sound team took pictures of everything and prepared the gym for the "National Evening"
-Finally, the big group prepared a short Drama Play on two of the festivals they had been working on: Christmas and World War II.
At break, after having a sandwich or a cup of coffee, they enjoyed two amusing activities: Basque dances and sports -Herri Kirolak-  led by them themselves.
A lot of energy, interest and work was given in the workshops.
In the evening, surfing, shops and TV interview were waiting for them
In the following PPT we can see a summary of the activities.
