3º ESO- 1 MET and 2

3º ESO is getting some training for the next term to prepare their two most important projects in the year: Theatre Project and the Portfolio Project.
They have started with something not very difficult: A talk about fashion.

In 3º ESO 2,  Irati, Maialen, Sofía, May Ann, Cristian and Manuela made an outstanding  oral presentation on Fashion.
In 3º ESO 1, it was Gonzalo, Danel, Joseba, Miguel, Andrés and Ander who got the best marks.

Both courses started the second evaluation by reading a world famous book: The Phantom of the opera, by Jennifer Bassett. After the reading, they worked on comprehension question, designed a flyer and presented their new project the their classmates.
In the PPT below, we can see them working and their final products.

1º ESO -1 MET, A Year Full of Expectations

In 1º ESO-1 MET Oral Skills are most important. During the first weeks, they worked on Personal Information. After creating a family poster they presented their first project orally to the rest of the students. They also prepared some interviews to "celebrities", which were dramatised in class.
However, their first big project was "English Speaking Countries".
The English teacher and Sherry, the High School language assistant, introduced Britan and The U.S.A. After that, the students were given some information about the English Speaking Countries. They were divided into groups of four, surfed the net and with all that information collected they designed a poster about those countries. Finally, they presented their project to the class.

 USA

Soon after that, they read a book: The Borrowers. On this occasion they designed a flyer, which was presented orally too.
In the following PPT we can see pictures of these activities taken by the students themselves.

"Funny School Times", Four Years ON

Orain dela lau urte...
Hace cuatro años...
Four years ago,
Julio Caro Baroja High School started its star project
TheTrilingualism Project.
No doubt, it is one of the projects that has given a good reputation to our school in Getxo. It started by having one more lesson in English in 1º ESO - MET and a especial English Workshop: Drama Workshop. The following school year we opened another new exciting subject: T-COM. Later, Citizenship, Ph.E., Ethics and A.E. in English would take their place in the Trilingual Projects.
This is the fourth school year with MET. All courses in ESO have arranged special classes to improve the students' command of English .  But, in order to celebrate it, this morning, over 50 MET students have joined at the Assembly Hall to sing the song that gave name to the drama play they have performed for the last four years and which made their first début  by this time in December, 2011
Funny School Times.
Funny School Times will probably be performed for the last time tomorrow evening, at 19:00 p.m
Students of 1º ESO - MET will close this first circle of our Trilingualism Project Drama Workshop.
Parents and friends are invited to enjoy the play performed by our wonderful school cast.

Congratulations to teachers and students!!!
