Kultura Ondarea Saria, a new School Project at IES Julio Caro Baroja.

In order to promote the Basque Heritage among young students,  the Basque Government opened a contest called Kultura Ondarea Saria. Students could take part in any of our official languages, including modern languages studied at school.

A team of six lead by J. Carlos Martínez as their tutor offered to participate. They have been working hard for two months. As a consequence, the results have turned our to be highly promising.

They have made two videos. The first one describes the way they have been working (make-of). The second one is the product.

What Basque topic did they choose? Something closely connected with Algorta: old traditional boats -txalupak- and their rebuilding, as most of them are disappearing little by little.
They had some priceless help from the Association Itxas Egurra Haizean and the undeniable support of Iñaki Gómez, Alfredo Robles y Jesús Álvarez.

They have uploaded their video today in:
"Surfing our traditional Basque boat rebuilding"
